Jaguar promises 320 km/h top-speed from F-Type SVR

The same team that worked over the Range Rover Sport to create the 550-horsepower Range Rover Sport SVR has given the Jaguar F-Type the same treatment.

Set to make its global debut at the Geneva auto show in March, the Jaguar F-Type SVR is "lighter, faster and more powerful" than the rest of the F-Type stable, according to Jaguar, and will be capable of more than 320 km/h.

It's the first production Jaguar to be tinkered with by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations team, and has been "developed to exploit the two-seat aluminium sports car's full potential while retaining its day-to-day usability," according to the automaker.

Few details have been released, but Jaguar promises it "takes performance, dynamics and driver involvement to a new level."

Oh, and if the coupe doesn't cut it, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations managing director John Edwards has some good news.

"We even made a convertible version so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system," he said in a statement.

Making anything sound better than even the Jaguar F-Type S Convertible will be a challenge, but we can't wait to see how the crew did.
