Volvo's top-of-mark 90 Series continues to grow, with the Swedish automaker unveiling the all-new V90 wagon ahead of its Geneva debut.

The automaker says the handsome V90 is "a clear step forward in terms of aesthetics, materials and finish" in the premium wagon segment, with an upscale look that is a big departure from any other wagon in its lineup.

Built on the company's modular Scalable Product Architecture platform, the V90 shares more than just looks with the XC90 crossover and recently-unveiled S90 sedan.

Volvo said the 90 Series wagon will be powered by a T8 twin engine plug-in hybrid setup like the one in the XC90 and S90.

Making a total of 403 horsepower and 348 lb.-ft. of torque in the sport utility, Volvo said the V90 will make "around" 410 horsepower and will have a pure electric driving range of around 50 kilometres.

It will also feature the semi-autonomous driving suite offered on its platform mates.

Expect more info after its Geneva auto show debut.
