A Little Playtime Coming with the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E 300

In a few days, The Car Guide will be heading to our nation's capital of Ottawa to test out one of the most technologically advanced vehicles currently on the market—the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E 300.

What's to come may be more about the sedan's electronics than its driving abilities, but we're game. Mercedes-Benz has been a leading force in pushing the boundaries of advanced technologies to support not only the safety of the drive, but the comfort of its occupants.

From what we've seen and heard, this new E-Class represents a lot of that R&D, and we're excited to test it out. I can't go into too much detail about all of its technologies, so here's a list of some of the main attractions: remote parking pilot with your smartphone app, LED adaptive headlights, cross-traffic prevention, adaptive cruise control, adaptive steering, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The excitement doesn't stop at the electronics stage as the E-Class possesses one of the finest luxury interiors offered, especially at this midsize level. The world is your oyster, if you're in the market for the E 300, as you can customize that cabin with three different types of seats, 64 different ambient light colours and two 12.3-inch flatscreen displays.

And just when you thought that was enough to whet your appetite, there's a new engine being used as the cherry on top. For the E 300, there's only one option and that's the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 241 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0-litre is matched to a nine-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with Mercedes' 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

It's incredible to see how many changes Mercedes-Benz has made to its 2017 E-Class and we will provide you with more details in its upcoming review. Stay tuned...
