In the last few days, we were seeing quite a few pictures of a new McLaren model circulating on the Internet. The English manufacturer stayed quiet about it, since they wanted to officially unveil the car during the Monterey Car Week.

McLaren finally gave out more information about the red coupe: everyone, meet the MSO HS.

So how is it different from a regular 650S?

First of all, it gets more power: blueprinting the engine and polishing its 3.8 litre, twin-turbocharged V8’s heads gives it 688 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

The car is also visually different. It features some similarities with the 675LT, but gets an aerodynamic kit, carbon fibre front accents as well as a huge air scoop on top of the car. The McLaren also gets additional canards as well as a large wing.

Inside, the leather got replaced by Alcantara, and the seats are carbon fibre units. The manufacturer added LEDs that act as shift lights, and there are cameras both in front and the back of the vehicle so you can record your antics at track days. There is a third one that records what goes on inside the vehicle, so you can your reactions at the wheel.

Production will be limited to 25 units, they are already all sold. However, if you go to McLaren custom vehicles department, MSO, they will probably be more than happy to build you another… if money is no object.
