The X Treatment for the 2017 GMC Sierra HD

Good news for those who like the 2017 GMC Sierra HD All-Terrain, but can’t bear to think about its shiny chrome trim being scratched in the trails: the manufacturer just announced they would launch a dark, rugged version of its HD truck… and sell it here.

After the Chevrolet Sierra and Colorado, it’s now the GMC Sierra HD’s turn to receive the X treatment: available on the All-Terrain variant, this package adds a slew of useful accessories for off-road enthusiasts… as well as a thick coat of black.

For example, the truck gets 18-inch black wheels shod in Goodyear Duratrac tires, previously chromed accents are now black and the sidesteps are painted of the same colour. In the back, there is now a set of support bars that can be used to mount auxiliary lights. They also look badass.

Performance-wise, the All-Terrain X gets the Z71 package, meaning it comes with 4WD as well as off-road shocks and underbody protection plates. There is also an Eaton mechanical locking rear differential as well as a spray-in bedliner.

If you want one of those trucks, you only need to choose a colour (Black or Summit White) and an engine (a 6.0-litre V8 or a 6.6-litre Duramax turbo-diesel with 910 pound-feet of torque).
