A Recall for the Toyota Prius

Published on October 25, 2016 in Recalls by Frédérick Boucher-Gaulin

Bad news for those who flocked to get their hands on the first units of the new Toyota Prius: your car may have been recording impressive fuel economy numbers, but it has already been recalled.

On 2,780 units of 2016 and 2017 Prius vehicles, the parking brake might become inoperative. If this happens while the driver is getting out of the vehicle and leaves the car in Park, Neutral or Reverse, the Prius could roll on its own.

Toyota will repair your vehicle by installing stronger pins that holds the dust cover protecting your parking cable. To make sure the affected vehicles are repaired quickly, the manufacturer will send first-class letters to their customers.
