Mazda2 Soon To Be Available in Canada Only?

Published on April 12, 2009 in News by Dan Fritter

Old news for those of you that read the Globe and Mail, Mazda’s president and CEO Takashi Yamanouchi recently announced that the much-lusted-after Mazda2 will be coming to Canadian showrooms. Although tight-lipped as to the timeline, other sources would seem to indicate that we can expect to see the diminutive Mazda appear sometime within the next two years.

Interestingly, no such announcement has been made in the United States; possibly the result of Mazda’s larger market share up here. Intended to compete with the upcoming Ford Fiesta, the tiny Mazda will definitely provide the cutesy Ford with some competition; especially given both vehicles have proven incredibly popular overseas.
