2018 Chevrolet Traverse to be Revealed in Detroit
After almost ten years on the market with very little change, Chevrolet’s midsize Traverse will finally receive a full redesign for the 2018 model year.
Only a teaser image has been published by Chevrolet so far, but we can see some resemblance in its silhouette with the 2017 GMC Acadia, the first of GM’s Lambda-platform triplets to get redesigned. We’re assuming a new-generation Buick Enclave might be presented at the Chicago Auto Show.
Actually, the only aspect that currently sets the Traverse apart from the Acadia is that Chevrolet is announcing an eight-passenger configuration, while the Acadia can only seat seven. Cargo space and third-row legroom is also promised to be class-leading. Perhaps—and we’re just guessing here—the Traverse en future Enclave will feature a longer body, which would make room for a three-passenger, third-row seat.
The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse should still offer a 3.6-litre V6 underhood, which would develop 310 horsepower just in the Acadia. Obviously, AWD will be available.
The new Traverse will officially be revealed on January 9th at the Detroit Auto Show.
