Honda Accord, The Car Guide’s Best New Car of the Year for 2018

With a bold new design, new powertrains and new technologies, the Accord sedan has everything to please a clientele composed of both young and not-so-young buyers.
Its turbocharged, 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine develops 192 horsepower, but also boasts class-leading fuel economy among non-hybrid midsize sedans. Its turbocharged, 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine replaces the old V6 with a cavalry of 252 horsepower, and with both powertrains, buyers can choose between manual or automatic transmissions.
Its solid drive, much-improved infotainment system and ride comfort also impressed The Car Guide’s team of journalists.
The Hyundai Ioniq came in second for the Best New Car of the Year title, while the Toyota Camry also finished on the podium.
