2018 Mazda6: Pricing and Details Announced
Mazda’s midsize sedan benefits from an updated design for 2018, but also from a more powerful engine option in its higher-end trim levels. It made its Canadian debut at the Toronto Auto Show.
First of all, the base MSRP of the new Mazda6 is set at $27,000 before freight and delivery charges. That applies to the GS, which is now the entry-level trim for 2018. It’s equipped with a 184-horsepower, 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the manual gearbox is no longer offered.

Standard features include LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a Mazda Connect infotainment system with eight-inch touchscreen, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and autonomous emergency braking.
On option is a turbocharged, 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that bumps output to 227 horsepower (250 with 93-octane fuel) and 310 pound-feet of torque. It’s the same engine that’s found in the Mazda CX-9 midsize SUV. It will be available in GS-L, GT and Signature trim levels, the latter being new for 2018. Retailing from $38,800, the Mazda6 Signature boasts Nappa leather upholstery, Ultrasuede trim with what Mazda calls a subtle gold tint, and genuine Japanese wood accents. The most luxurious version of the Mazda6 will also benefit from a 360-degree camera system, a windshield wiper de-icer, front and rear park sonar as well as ventilated front seats.
The 2018 Mazda6 will be on sale in April.
