Toyota will give a brand new Toyota Tundra to a resident of Paradise City, in California, for rescuing people from a burning hospital.

The Coast is on Fire

In you’ve been following the news lately, you’re well aware that California is getting its share of violent forest fires. Last week, the entire city of Malibu had to be evacuated due to many homes going down in flames. As we’re writing this, the fires are still burning hard, are almost impossible to control and slowly approaching the city of L.A. which is now under a state of emergency. Since the beginning of said disaster, 42 people died and 200 are still missing.

Allyn Pierce is a nurse who wouldn’t accept that patients were left trapped inside a burning hospital. In a brave act of heroism, he used his Toyota tundra pickup to evacuate the individuals to safer ground. Pierce performed two trips through the burning inferno. He even thought he’d stay trapped in there himself, so he recorded a farewell message to his family just in case.

Luckily, the truck held up and its tires didn’t melt, allowing Allyn and his new friends to make it out of the horrific experience unharmed.

The man then posted a photo of his Tundra on Instagram, burned like “a marshmellow” with the caption “this is my Toyota commercial.” Impressed by the heroic act, Toyota has announced on its own Instagram account that it will hand Pierce a brand-new 2019 Toyota Tundra as a form of recognition.
