California Hero Gets his New Toyota Tundra

A few weeks ago, we shared a story about a nurse in California who saved patients from a burning hospital during the fires in Paradise City, just outside of Los Angeles. Allyn Pierce almost lost his life during the stunt, and his Toyota Tundra in which he carried the victims was heavily damaged.

Following the heroic act, Toyota promised the man he’d receive a brand-new Tundra truck as a form of recognition. And he just got it.

More than Expected

Toyota not only remained true to its promise by delivering our hero a fully equipped Tundra , but went a step further by gifting him with a TRD Pro, the most expensive off-road version within the Tundra lineup.

From the images Pierce shared on his Instagram account, we can clearly see that his truck was disfigured by the blazing inferno, with the paint almost entirely carbonized, as well as the mirrors, bumpers, head and taillights almost entirely melted from the heat.

A new truck is indeed an honourable gesture from Toyota, or a very good marketing stunt, depending on how you look at it. We can at least attest that the people in charge of marketing at Toyota are of good faith, and Pierce is very thankful for that. But he admits that the situation is far from solved, as the man is now without a home, or a job, ever since the fires started.

The people of California must remain brave as they face many challenges to get their lives back to normal.
