For the 2019 model year, Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada has decided to bring back the Black Edition trim package for some of its models, and they’re on display at the Toronto Auto Show.

The 2019 Mitsubishi RVR SE Black Edition, priced from $29,998 before freight and delivery charges, is based on the SE Limited trim. It’s equipped with a 168-horsepower, 2.4-litre engine, matched to a continuously variable automatic transmission and the brand’s AWC all-wheel drive system. Blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, mirror-mounted turn signals and an intelligent key are also part of the package.

In addition to the Labrador Black paint, it features a blackout treatment for the 18-inch alloy wheels, grille and bumper garnish. The cockpit is dressed in faux-suede upholstery, red contrast stitching and aluminum pedals.

The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander SE Black Edition, priced from $35,998, is based on the SE AWC Touring variant. It receives the same blacked-out exterior highlights as the RVR in addition to black roof rails as well as LED headlight and fog lamps, and a black headliner has been added inside. Power comes from a 3.0-litre V6 that delivers 224 ponies and provides a towing capacity of 1,588 kg (3,500 lbs.).

The 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SE Black Edition builds on the SE S-AWC variant with Tarmac Black paint, black 18-inch alloys, black roof rails, silver door trim and LED headlights. The SUV’s cockpit also boasts heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. It’s priced from $30,998. The Eclipse Cross is equipped with a 152-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-litre engine and a continuously variable automatic.

Also at the Mitsubishi stand is the e-EVOLUTION Concept, which made its Canadian debut at the Montreal Auto Show last month.
