2019 Cadillac CT6-V and 2020 Cadillac XT6 Unveiled in Toronto

American luxury brand Cadillac premiered two new models at the Toronto Auto Show, which should both draw a fair amount of attention, although for different reasons.

The 2019 Cadillac CT6-V will flaunt the company’s new twin-turbo, 4.2-litre V8 engine that is said to develop 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. It will feature automatic start/stop and cylinder deactivation, and will be managed by a 10-speed automatic transmission to keep fuel consumption at more reasonable levels.

The CT6-V will be a limited-production car, as only 275 units have been earmarked for the U.S. market, so we can imagine about 25 units or so are reserved for Canada. Pricing should start at $95,295 before freight and delivery charges.

While performance enthusiasts will look at the CT6-V, luxury-minded families should rather be charmed by the all-new 2020 Cadillac XT6. This three-row, midsize SUV is powered by a 310-horsepower, 3.6-litre V6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drivetrain.

The XT6 will be available with a slew of features, such as a Bose 14-speaker sound system, semi-aniline leather upholstery, an in-vehicle air ionizer, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keep assist, a surround-view camera system, night vision, power-folding third-row seatbacks, a rear camera mirror, head-up display and SiriusXM 360L. The CUE infotainment system gets a console-mounted rotary dial first introduced on the 2019 Cadillac XT4 subcompact SUV.

Pricing and availability for the 2020 Cadillac XT6 haven’t yet been announced.
