Kia Stinger and Jaguar I-PACE Win AJAC’s 2019 Canadian Car of the Year Awards

Early on the media preview day of the Toronto Auto Show, the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada unveiled the winners of its annual Canadian Car of the Year awards.

The Kia Stinger has been crowned the 2019 Canadian Car of the Year, impressing voting journalists for its design, performance and bang for the buck factor.

Finalists included the Kia Forte (Best Small Car in Canada), the Kia Stinger (Best Large Car in Canada) and the Volvo V90 R-Design (Best Large Premium Car in Canada).

Meanwhile, the Jaguar I-PACE was awarded the 2019 Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year title. It pleased the voting panel of more than 70 journalists with its combination of driving dynamics, power and driving range.

Finalists included the Mazda CX-5 (Best Mid-sized Utility Vehicle in Canada), the Hyundai Kona (Best Small Utility Vehicle in Canada) and the Jaguar I-PACE (Best Premium Electric Vehicle in Canada).

AJAC’s Canadian Green Vehicle of the Year awards will be announced next month at the Vancouver Auto Show.
