73 Vintage Cars Going on Sale Today for $325 Each

Ever dreamed of buying a rusty old car and restoring it until it looks all shiny and marvellous? What about a few dozen of them?

If you can fly to Aspen, Colorado right now, you should stop by a little repair shop called Aspen Import Auto, which is holding a yard sale today at 10 am local time (noon EDT).

Because the shop will be moving soon, the owners need to find a new home for some 73 vintage cars—most of them Italian—they have accumulated over the years.

You’ll find pretty much all the different Fiat models sold in the U.S. between the 1960s and 1983, including the 124 Coupe and Spider, 850, X1/9, Brava and 128. There are several Lancia cars, too, a couple of Yugo models (which used many Fiat-sourced components) and an Alfa Romeo 164 that looks like an unfinished project. The crowded storage lot also includes a pair of Subaru XTs that scream 1980s.

These classic automobiles are in various states of disrepair and sitting on flat tires, so there is a lot—and we do mean a lot—of work to do on them. They have been left outside for decades, exposed to the elements including snow, and rust has largely taken over them. While that’s not exactly a crime, it’s a sad sight to behold, in a way.

In many cases, the cars are beyond repair and only some of their parts can be salvaged. Not a single one is currently in running condition, the shop says.

Those who come in for the two-hour viewing session can take home any number of cars at just $250 USD (approx. $325) apiece, but they must do so before the end of August.

This could be one way of starting you own little car museum!
