Toyota Supra Gets Huge Body Kit for SEMA

In a surprise to no one, the hot new 2020 Toyota GR Supra will be one of the stars of the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, which kicks off on November 5.

In fact, you can bet there will be a host of specially tuned Supras and Supra-based concepts at the event.

Today, we have our first look at one of them, developed by a company from California called Evasive Motorsports in collaboration with DuSpeed.

From the three pictures posted on Evasive’s Facebook page, we can see a lower, wider and much more aggressive Supra. Check out the size of the front splitter, the side skirts and the rear wing—all in contrasting black carbon fibre. There’s a chance those BBS alloy wheels are bigger, too. Conversely, the mirrors appear to be smaller.

Hopefully, the tuners cooked up an impressive engine kit and a true race-car interior to go along with the Fast & Furious-style looks. Out of the factory, the GR Supra houses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight-six engine that cranks out 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque.

Something that we’d love to see, of course, is a manual transmission. Right now, Toyota only offers an eight-speed automatic, apparently because the car wasn’t designed with a clutch in mind.

Another company, European Auto Group (which is actually based in Texas), makes a 425-horsepower Supra with a six-speed stick, so anything’s possible.

Don’t miss our coverage of the SEMA Show to see and read about many of the stunning creations on display.
