2019 Ram 1500 Rebel and Ram 2500 Power Wagon: A Mud Fest Awaits us!
This week, The Car Guide is off to Whistler, B.C. for the opportunity to test the new 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel and Ram 2500 Power Wagon in off-road settings.
The former has won multiple awards since coming to market last year, including the highly coveted North American Truck of the Year Award and The Car Guide’s Best Buy Award in the full-size pickup segment.

Earlier this year, we challenged the Ram Heavy Duty in the desert of Nevada and were impressed by the massive torque generated by its Cummins turbo-diesel engine, especially in towing situations.
The most intriguing variant, of course, is the Power Wagon—a big, burly truck designed to tackle punishing terrains and pull heavy loads. It now faces stiff competition in the form of the brand new GMC Sierra HD AT4 and Ford Super Duty Tremor.
However, the Ram Power Wagon has a few tricks up its sleeve including a Wrangler-like articulated suspension that makes it possible to fully disconnect the sway bars. Under the hood is the familiar 6.4-litre HEMI V8 rated at 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, along with an eight-speed transmission.
Meanwhile, the smaller Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a number of off-road accessories such as a one-inch lift kit with Bilstein shocks, 33-inch off-road tires, a locking rear differential and skid plates.
These two American beasts are well equipped to overcome the toughest obstacles. We’re very much looking forward to putting them to the test in the dense woods of the West Coast. Don't miss our review!
