How to Get a 700-hp Ford Mustang GT for $50K

Remember the awesome Roush Performance Mustang Stage 3 we told you about last spring? This is almost as good… and considerably cheaper, too.

A Ford dealer in Tennessee, Brown Lee Performance, is getting a lot of attention these days for selling 700-horsepower Mustangs at a cool price of $39,995 USD, or just over $50,000 for us Canadians.

They start with 2020 Ford Mustang GT in either Grabber Lime or Twister Orange, then add Phase 1 Roush TVS supercharger kit, which on its own retails for $7,699 USD (approx. $10,000).

The kit includes the supercharger, an intake kit, an intercooler, the software to recalibrate the factory ECU, plus all the necessary hardware to mount these parts.

Of course, if customers opt for the 10-speed automatic transmission instead of the six-speed manual, or if they want brake, suspension or wheel upgrades, the price goes up accordingly.

Brown Lee Performance plans to sell around 200 copies of this Roush-modified Mustang in 2019.

Now, is this just a marketing stunt or is the dealer actually making money on this deal?

One thing you must know is that Brown Lee is a Roush Master Dealer, meaning it sells and installs enough Roush performance products to benefit from Roush's best pricing. They probably paid only around half for the Phase 1 supercharger kit.

Also, Ford dealers that sell more vehicles and receive better customer service feedback reportedly get lower pricing when buying stock from the manufacturer. In other words, Brown Lee likely is a high-volume dealer that can pay less for filling its lot with new Mustangs.

Any way you look at it, this 700-horsepower Mustang offer is a real bargain when you consider that the all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 delivers 760 horsepower and costs a whopping $94,675 in Canada.
