Watch: Ford Bronco Prototype Hits the Desert for Off-road Testing

Are you excited yet about the world premiere of the all-new, sixth-generation 2021 Ford Bronco that’s set to take place this spring? We sure are.

The production model was previewed—sort of—last fall with a Ford Performance-designed Bronco R prototype competing in the Baja 1000 off-road endurance race in the Mexican desert.

Now, we get this video that shows a heavily camouflaged Bronco experimental prototype being pushed to its limits in grueling conditions across the Mojave Desert’s Johnson Valley in California —crawling up rocks, racing through sand, hitting jumps and going down nasty trails.

While it’s impossible to appreciate the Bronco’s lines and styling at this point, we can get a good idea of how capable it will be thanks to a fully boxed, body-on-frame T6 architecture (a shortened version of the Ford Ranger platform)

Details about the 2021 Ford Bronco will likely keep coming over the next few months as we get closer to the big reveal, so stay tuned.
