Porsche at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show
World premiere of four 911 models and European debut of Porsche’s first four-door, four-seat sports car highlight continuous innovation
With one European and four world premieres, Porsche AG will once again demonstrate its tradition of technical innovation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which opens to the public between September 17 and 27, 2009.
Among the stars of the show are four new 911 models: the 911 Turbo, the 911 GT3 RS, its 911 GT3 Cup motorsport twin and the limited-edition 911 Sport Classic, which will not be available in North America. The Frankfurt exhibition will also mark the European premiere of the four-door, four-seat Panamera Gran Turismo.
Despite yet another major increase in performance, the new, 500-hp 911 Turbo is the most fuel-efficient sports car in its class, with a new direct-injection engine and available seven-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox – perfectly suited to everyday and long-distance driving as well as thrills on the track. The 911 GT3 RS road car, Porsche’s most extreme road-going 911 and its close relation, the 911 GT3 Cup racing car, both feature a new, wider body with design changes, higher performance and greater efficiency than before. The 911 Sport Classic, a unique car built in a limited run of 250 for the most fanatical 911 collectors, is recognizable by its “double-bubble” roof, its vintage-look wheels and “ducktail” rear spoiler, reminiscent of the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7.
Visitors to Frankfurt will find Porsche in hall 5.0 at stand B14, which can be reached through the Congress Centre and Ludwig-Erhard building entrances. The exhibition is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.
