2021 Subaru Crosstrek Introduced With More Power and Tech

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is getting a significant mid-cycle update that includes a bigger engine option. If you’re in the market for a small SUV, you need to read this.

While the base 2.0-litre engine carries over unchaged, there’s a new 2.5-litre unit shared with other Subaru vehicles such as the larger Forester and Outback. It produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque with the help of a continuously variable transmission.

In order to benefit from that extra dose of power, you will have to select either the top-line Limited model or the new-for-2021 Crosstrek Outdoor. The latter also stands out with specific lower body cladding, available Pearl Plasma Yellow paint, Yellow and Gunmetal accents, as well as a new front camera providing a nearly 180-degree view.

Other improvements to the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek lineup include a redesigned grille, new wheels, an upgraded EyeSight system featuring Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, plus a standard heated steering wheel in Touring and Sport trim.

The base MSRP remains at $23,795, while the top-line model retails for $34,495. The 2021 Crosstrek will arrive at Subaru dealers across Canada in August.
