This Barely Used Honda S2000 Could be Worth a Ton

Want a fun convertible for summer? The Honda S2000 is certainly a good option if you don’t care about buying new or used. However, it’s becoming increasingly popular among car collectors and you might end up paying a much higher price than you had in mind.

Consider this 2007 model for sale on the auction website Bring a Trailer. Almost as good as new, it has logged just 1,162 miles, or 1,870 kilometres. That’s it.

The pictures show a Silverstone Metallic exterior and black soft top in mint condition. The 17-inch wheels are stock, but the tires were switched with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo units.

The 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine under the hood produces 237 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque via a six-speed manual gearbox and Torsen limited-slip differential. Remember, it’s a high-revving powerplant with a redline at 8,000 rpm. The current owner replaced the battery two years ago and changed the oil last April.

We bet the car won’t require major attention for several years. Having said that, it should be noted that Honda has started remanufacturing parts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the S2000 including a new front bumper, suspension components, audio system and more.

Incredibly, it’s not the only Honda S2000 with fewer than 2,000 kilometres to be sold on Bring a Trailer this spring. In May, a Club Racer model found a taker for $76,500 USD ($102,000 CAD), a record for a used S2000 on this website.
