A few days ago, firefighters of the Dearborn Fire Department in Michigan had the opportunity to hone their vehicle extrication skills on none other than the fastest and most powerful production Mustang of all time.
After all, when human lives are at stake, no amount of sheetmetal is too precious to be chopped into pieces. Here’s the result:

The firefighters who participated in the exercise admitted on Facebook that it almost broke their hearts to cut the almighty Rapid Red muscle car. For the record, the vehicle loaned by Ford was a test unit that would never have hit the road anyway.
As such, it was worth a tad less than the street-legal Shelby GT500, which retails from a whopping $94,675 in Canada. The engine was the same, however, namely a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 producing 760 horsepower and 625 pounds-feet of torque.
