Hennessey’s 805-hp Ford F-150 Strikes Back at Ram 1500 TRX
While Ford seems hesitant to provide details about its future F-150 Raptor (rumoured to have over 700 hp), Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering is not wasting any more time and announcing its most powerful and fastest Ford truck ever—the Venom 800 Supercharged.
“We’ve only used our Venom trademark on a small number of very special vehicles in the 29-year history of our company,” said founder and CEO John Hennessey. “We feel that our new F-150 with the Supercharged upgrade is worthy of the Venom name.

Based on the all-new 2021 F-150 in Platinum trim with a Super Crew cab, Hennessey’s monster combines the classic 5.0-litre V8 engine with a 3.0-litre supercharger kit. There’s also a high-flow cold air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, as well as a stainless steel exhaust system.
Consequently, the team more than doubled the truck’s output—from 400 to 805 horsepower—easily trumping the new, 702-horsepower Ram 1500 TRX… whose airbox literally shows a T-Rex devouring a raptor. As for torque, it was increased to 727 pound-feet.
With four-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic transmission, the Hennessey Venom 800 Supercharged accelerates from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds. These numbers would make the envy of not only the Ram 1500 TRX (4.5 and 12.9 seconds, respectively), but also several sports cars.
An upgraded Brembo braking system with six-piston callipers and massive 15.1-inch cross-drilled steel rotors helps keep the truck in check, while the upgraded 20-inch Hennessey wheels are wrapped with 35-inch all-terrain tires. This is backed by a beefy off-road suspension system with upgraded shocks and six-inch lift.
Other highlights include a custom grille and front bumper, the latter incorporating accessory LED lights for nighttime excursions, plus unique exterior branding and serial numbered plaques in the interior and engine compartment.
The cost of the transformation, which includes the donor F-150 Platinum, is $149,500 USD. At the current exchange rate, that would represent $193,000 CAD. Only 100 units will be built for 2021 and delivered next year.
Ram still has some bragging rights, mind you. A few months ago, Hennessey announced plans to build a highly modified version of the TRX that will become its biggest, most powerful, most exclusive and most expensive truck in 29 years of existence: the 1,200-horsepower, six-wheeled Mammoth 6x6.
