The Car Guide's Best Buys for 2021: Toyota Camry
Every year, The Car Guide unveils a list of Best Buys covering all the different vehicle categories in the industry.
Midsize sedans are far less popular than they were a few years ago, and yet they have never been so good. The all-new Kia K5 replaces the old Optima, but since it was not available yet at the time of the voting process, we chose not to consider it here.

And so our Best Buy award for 2021 goes to the Toyota Camry. Available with a four-cylinder engine, V6 or hybrid powertrain, this car delivers solid performance and now offers a sporty TRD model on top of that, spicing things up nicely and marking a clear departure from your dad’s boring Camry.
The 2021 model year brings a few cosmetic revisions, a new available nine-inch display and standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ on all models. All-wheel drive is optional, and the Camry is among the most reliable vehicles on the market.
The runner-up is the Subaru Legacy, a low-profile sedan that will surprise many with its long list of attributes. While the six-cylinder engine is gone, the Legacy continues to shine with a stellar AWD system and surefooted handling.
As for third place, we picked the Honda Accord, which is available with a pair of turbocharged engines along with a hybrid powertrain. All Accord models boast dynamic handling that every competitor would envy. The manual transmission has been dropped for 2021, but a few notable updates make it an interesting purchase.
