Scores of Jeep, Dodge Vehicles Flooded at Shipping Yard
Heavy rain hit the Detroit area hard in the past few days, causing a ton of damage and problems even for automakers.
A shipping yard near Stellantis’ Jefferson North Assembly Plant, where a large number of vehicles were awaiting to be shipped to dealers, transformed into a lake. Pictures shared on social media show the extent of the flooding, which almost completely submerged some of the vehicles.
While the automaker could not confirm the number of affected vehicles and their identity, it said models of all kinds are temporarily stored in the shipping yard including the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L, Dodge Durango, Charger and Challenger, as well as trucks.

"An assessment will be conducted on the condition of vehicles in the yard. We have no additional information to share at this time," Stellantis told the Detroit Free Press.
It’s unclear whether some of the vehicles under water were headed to Canadian dealers.
Production at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant also had to be suspended, although things are back to normal now.
Over at Ford, the Dearborn Truck Plant that builds the best-selling F-150 was down on Saturday as a result of extreme flooding in the area. Shipments were not compromised, however.
