New EV Chargers Coming to Ontario
As part of #EVWeekinCanada, Natural Resources Canada yesterday announced an investment of $2.3 million to Anvil Crawler Development Corporation to install 36 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across Ontario.
Anvil Crawler, Opus One Solutions, SWTCH, Energy+ Inc. and Elexicon Energy, along with site host partners, are also supporting this initiative, bringing the total project cost to $6.7 million.

All chargers will be available for public use by September 30, 2022.
“We’re giving Canadians the greener options they want to get to where they need to go,” said Seamus O’Regan Jr., Minister of Natural Resources. “We’re building a coast-to-coast network of electric vehicle charging stations from St. John’s to Victoria, and now we’re building more right here in Ontario.”
Back in April, Natural Resources Canada announced a more than $235,000 investment for SWTCH Energy Inc. to install 61 EV chargers in Ontario and Quebec.
These investments will support the country’s new mandatory target of 100-percent zero-emission light-duty vehicle sales by 2035.
Right now, there are over 6,000 publicly accessible charging stations across Canada. Less than 1,000 are DC fast chargers.
