2022 Polestar 2 Gets Many Updates, Big Price Cut
Polestar today announced several changes and updates to the Polestar 2 for the 2022 model year. Chief among them is a new long-range, single-motor variant offering 231 horsepower, an estimated range of 426 kilometres and a starting price of $49,900.
Don’t forget provincial incentives of $8,000 in Quebec and $3,000 in British Columbia. The federal rebate of $5,000 is not available. Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of 2021.

“We are excited to introduce the expanded Polestar 2 range, which offers an ideal configuration for every lifestyle,” said Hugues Bissonnette, Head of Polestar in Canada. “With our new pricing that qualifies the Polestar 2 for numerous provincial incentives and the addition of the new mechanical heat pump to support Canadian winter driving, we have the product, pricing and convenience to place Polestar at the top of consumer shopping lists.”
The long-range, dual-motor Polestar 2 continues but now starts at $56,900, or as low as $48,900 in Quebec or $53,900 in British Columbia after qualifying incentives. That represents a price cut of $13,000, incredibly. It has the same 408-horsepower output as the 2021 model, plus an estimated range of 400 kilometres instead of 375 kilometres as previously advertised.
All versions of the Polestar 2 feature the world debut of Google’s Android Automotive OS native infotainment system with key features such as Google Assistant and Google Maps built-in.
Customers have a number of packages and options to choose from. These include:
- The Plus Pack ($5,500) debuts a mechanical heat pump, which is designed to extend the vehicle’s range by up to 10 percent under certain conditions.
