2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Reservations Open Today, So Get in Line

Today at 4 p.m. EDT is the start of reservations for the all-new 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ, the luxury brand’s first-ever electric SUV and a flagship of GM’s transition to a zero-emission future.

We wanted to let you know because the LYRIQ will be available in limited numbers when it launches in the fall of 2022 and demand will likely be strong for a number of reasons.

Mostly, it’s the combination of styling, luxury and technology for the price that impresses. Starting at $69,898 (plus $2,200 destination charges), the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ 2023 boasts a striking and futuristic design along with a giant 33-inch curved display inside. It also comes standard with Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving assist and new road noise cancellation technology for maximum relaxation behind the wheel.

A single configuration is planned at the moment, featuring a rear motor and rear-wheel drive. That means no all-wheel drive variant will be available initially, which is too bad for Canadian customers. The LYRIQ delivers 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, while range is estimated at 480 kilometres—better than every other electric SUV except the Tesla Model Y (525 km), which sits way below in terms of refinement and build quality.

And don’t worry, the LYRIQ will use new Ultium battery technology developed by General Motors and LG Chem, which is much different from the South Korean supplier’s own batteries that led to multiple cases of fire in Chevrolet Bolt EV and Hyundai Kona Electric vehicles.

If you’re interested in the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ, you shouldn’t waste time making a reservation via Cadillac’s website. That being said, you’d be wise to also consider models like the Audi e-tron  and Jaguar I-PACE as well as upcoming alternatives like the BMW iX, Volvo C40 Recharge and Mercedes-Benz EQB.
