Hennessey Aiming for 2,400-Horsepower, 6-Wheeled EV in 2026

Texas-based tuner Hennessey Performance Engineering’s next in-house project following the Venom F5 is almost out of this world. Due in 2026, it’s an electric car unlike any other in terms of design and performance.

The company posted a few sketches and revealed some specifications today on its Facebook page.

Project Deep Space, as it is called, is described by company founder and CEO John Hennessey as the “modern equivalent of something like the Bugatti Royale.” It’s a six-wheel vehicle with a four-seat interior in a 1+2+1 configuration (the driver’s seat is positioned in the middle of the first row) and a length of around six metres.

The six electric motors (one for each wheel) would together generate an estimated and mind-boggling 2,400 horsepower—easily out-muscling the Lotus Evija and Pininfarina Battista and resulting in the world’s quickest-accelerating four-seater from 0-320 mph, the company claims.

Hennessey previously considered making an electric hypercar, but the weight of the battery capable of delivering brand-appropriate performance made it next-to impossible. So, they said: why not build a whole new type of car, something that would be heavier but also accommodating for more than two people?

Development is reportedly well underway, and the target for production is no more than 105 units. They will be sold at $3 million USD apiece. One of them is spoken for already thanks to one of the Venom F5 customers.

“How many more guys are out there? I’m not sure, but I do know that in this part of the market, people want to have something completely different to what their friends and rivals own,” John Hennessey told Autocar

We can’t wait to see the first pictures of the production model. Hopefully they’ll arrive before mid-decade.
