2011 Audi A8 Revealed

When it comes to luxury barges, there’s really only one choice for the discerning driver: the Audi A8. At least, that was the only choice, until the platform was allowed to languish unchanged for years while Mercedes, BMW, and Lexus all revamped their super-saloons.

But the discerning driver who wants to play chauffer occasionally has a new hope: the 2011 Audi A8. Completely redesigned with much of the original’s DNA, the new A8 promises bucketloads of fun without compromising luxury. Lighter, more powerful (although still soldiering on with the same 4.2L V8) and boasting a more aerodynamic body, the new A8 breaks with Audi’s tradition of producing luxurious yet understated vehicles. Boasting a myriad of new technologies, the new car has such interesting features as LED headlights that adjust their height and angle with data from the navigation system, handwriting recognition, and an eight speed transmission.

Perhaps most interesting is that this may mark the first time we may receive the famous A8 TDI model. Boasting economy car mileage and luxury car appointments, it’s a fantastic pairing of diesel engineering and luxury car comfort.
