Beware of These Late-Model Used Cars, According to Study

Published on January 20, 2022 in Pre-owned vehicles by The Car Guide

Opting for a recent used vehicle is a good idea to save a few bucks, and also because there is often a period of the original manufacturer's warranty remaining. That said, some models are less reliable than others and have more problems.

The American website Consumer Reports has compiled a list based on data collected from its members, focusing on more than 15 elements ranging from mechanical components to electronics, including chassis, paint, brakes and others. The frequency of problems and issues encountered over the past 12 months is also taken into account.

The vehicles analyzed in the study are all models between 1 and 3 years old. Naturally, as time passes and mileage increases, problems are more likely to occur.
