2023 Chevrolet Blazer Gets Fresh Looks, Bigger Display

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed the Chevrolet Blazer’s mid-cycle update to the 2023 model year, but now’s the time to tell you exactly what’s in store for the midsize SUV.

First, the exterior is refreshed with new headlights, daytime running lights and taillights. The front fascia is redesigned, as well, including the grille and bumper. On the sides, new 18-, 20- and 21-inch wheel designs are available, as shown by the RS model on the pictures.

Four new body colours can be selected—Fountain Blue, Sterling Grey Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic and Radiant Red Tintcoat. The optional two-tone exterior with a black roof sticks around.

Inside, the changes are much more subtle. That being said, all Blazer drivers will appreciate the new standard 10-inch touchscreen replacing the eight-inch unit. A Nightshift Blue interior is available in RS trim.

South of the border, Chevrolet Safety Assist will now be included as standard on all models, but that is already the case in Canada. The system combines six advanced safety features such as forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection and lane keeping assist.

There are no changes under the hood, so look for the same turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower and 3.6-litre V6 rated at 308 horsepower. Both are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional with the former and standard with the latter.

The 2023 Chevrolet Blazer will go on sale this summer. Pricing has yet to be announced, but expect slight increases over the outgoing 2022 model, which starts at $37,498.

Oh, and in case you forgot, General Motors has promised a Blazer EV for 2024.
