Midnight Edition Highlights 2022 Nissan Sentra, Altima

Published on February 16, 2022 in News by Guillaume Rivard

Creating darker-looking models to add character to certain vehicles is something the majority of automakers are doing. At Nissan, there’s the Midnight Edition package. For the 2022 model year, you can find it on the Sentra and Altima sedans, not to mention the Murano and Armada SUVs.

In the case of the Sentra, the Midnight Edition is exclusively available with the SR model featuring the continuously variable transmission. Starting at $25,498 plus freight and PDE, it’s the most expensive Sentra in the lineup other than the top-line SR Prime.

The exterior boasts unique 18-inch black alloy wheels along with a black finish on the V-motion grille, mirror caps and rear spoiler. The headlight and taillight bezels are also blacked out. Special badging and a black rear diffuser complete the transformation.

There are no other extras, let alone powertrain upgrades, which explains why the Midnight Edition costs only $600 more than a regular Sentra SR. By the way, you have a choice of a Super Black, Aspen White or Gun Metallic body, the last two with a black roof.

When it comes to the larger Nissan Altima, the Midnight Edition gets pretty much the same treatment, except that the wheels are 19 inches in size. Super Black, Gun Metallic and Pearl White Tricoat body colours can be specified. Inside, look for black sport cloth seating surfaces with orange accent stitching.

This one retails from $32,698, meaning you have to spend $2,600 over the entry-level Altima SE, which lacks LED fog lights, a power sunroof, dual-zone climate control, remote starter and leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel.

Just so you know, the Nissan Altima will benefit from a mid-cycle refresh for 2023. Don’t expect major changes beyond some cosmetic revisions, though.
