The Lamborghini Miura Elected Best Classic Car of All Time
Classic cars continue to increase in value. This includes not only the most exotic models, but also more down-to-earth cars.
Specialty insurance company Hagerty published its list of 10 vehicles that are going to appreciate in value in 2022, but one can also cite other studies and rankings. The British site Confused, for example, has recently published some interesting statistics.
According to Hagerty’s research, the Ferrari F355, Testarossa, and F40 occupy three out of the four top places on the table of vehicles whose value increased the most since 2019. The Lamborghini Miura (third place) fits in among them.
Yet, value is only one way to measure the status of a specific car model. Confused analyzed a number of Google searches in the last 12 months and discovered that Nissan’s Skyline GT-R dominated the rankings, followed by the Lamborghini Countach and F40. The 250 GTO of Ferrari, by far the most expensive racing car in the world, appeared in 14th place.
On social media, the Lamborghini Diablo and Miura stand at the head of the pack regarding mentions on Instagram and views on TikTok. Strangely, the Honda Prelude appears in third place, before the Porsche 944 and Bugatti EB 110.
Confused compiled diverse results, considered production volumes, and drew up a ranking of the best classic cars on the planet. So, which model took the number one spot? It's the Lamborghini Miura. First produced in the middle of the 1960s, this beautiful Italian vehicle established all sorts of records, notably by becoming the fastest production vehicle in the world at the time. It is estimated today that the value of this vehicle has climbed more than 1,500% since its premiere!
