First Fully Electric Jeep to Launch in 2023
Jeep will launch its first fully electric SUV early in 2023, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares announced today during the automaker’s Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan presentation.
While there are no specs available at this point, we have two official pictures showing a concept that looks almost production-ready. It appears to be about the same shape and size as the Jeep Compass.

There are many similarities with the rest of the Jeep family, of course. One of them is the brand’s signature seven-slot grille, although in this case the grille is closed since there’s no gasoline engine under the hood.
Jeep’s first fully electric SUV—as of yet unnamed—will go head-to-head with competitors such as the Volkswagen ID.4, Nissan Ariya, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6.
Jeep’s Electric Shift Continues
Serious efforts to electrify the Jeep lineup started last year with the Wrangler 4xe, a plug-in hybrid variant of the iconic Wrangler offering approximately 35 kilometres of EV range thanks to a 17.3kWh battery.
The next-generation Grand Cherokee is also getting the 4xe treatment in North America, while the smaller Renegade and Compass are already available as plug-in hybrids over in Europe.
Under Stellantis, Jeep’s motto going forward is “Zero Emission, 100% Freedom.” By 2025, the brand will offer at least one zero-emission vehicle in every SUV segment.
