2023 Land Rover Defender: No 30th Anniversary Model for Canada
The Land Rover Defender launched in North America 30 years ago, so naturally the company decided to introduce a 30th Anniversary model that pays tribute to the iconic 1993 Defender 110, a classic SUV that is highly sought by collectors and enthusiasts with just over 500 units produced.
Sadly, all 500 copies to be built this time around will go to the U.S. exclusively.

We’re missing out on a vehicle that puts a focus on simplicity and vintage charms. Consider the 18-inch steel wheels in Gloss White, base Defender S equipment and the fact that the only engine available is the standard turbo-four producing 296 horsepower.
Also, the 30th Anniversary comes in a single body colour—Fuji White—and sports a heritage badge in the rear. The interior features Ebony grained leather seat facings and cross car beam in White Powdercoat Brushed Finish.
The special edition is equipped with all-terrain focused accessories similar to those found on the original. Such features include an Expedition roof rack, classic mud flaps, fixed side steps, deployable ladder and wheel arch extensions.
Obviously, there’s a bunch of modern technologies and amenities, like premium LED headlights, air suspension, three-zone climate control and air quality sensor with cabin air ionization. The Cold Climate Pack, Tow Pack, Black Exterior Pack and Off-Road Pack are all part of the mix, too.
What About Canada?
While they’re denied the 30th Anniversary edition, customers in Canada can already order a 2023 Land Rover Defender. Pricing starts at $66,100 for the short-wheelbase Defender 90 (up $2,000 from 2022) and $67,000 for the long-wheelbase Defender 100 (up $200).
The former adds a new Defender X model at $100,000 $, featuring a host of unique touches and additional hardware such as electronic air suspension, electronic active differential, configurable Terrain Response 2 system, All Terrain Progress Control and a two-tone Windsor leather interior in classic tan and black. The engine under the hood is the turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder rated at 395 horsepower.
Meanwhile, the Defender 110 V8 gets a Carpathian Edition that tops the range at $135,900. Exclusive 22-inch wheels, a black contrast liftgate, Graphite Exterior Pack, front centre console refrigerator compartment and more provide extra refinement and opulence.
