2023 Cadillac Lyriq Sold Out in Just a Few Hours

Published on May 20, 2022 in Electric by Guillaume Rivard

The all-new Cadillac Lyriq made its Canadian public debut in April at the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show, a month after production started in Tennessee, and people are crazy about it.

Just like the Debut Edition that sold out in just over 10 minutes last summer, the 2023 Lyriq didn’t waste time filling build slots when orders resumed yesterday.

It’s no longer possible to order one, but you can join the waitlist for the 2024 model, as specified on Cadillac Canada’s website:

The 2023 Lyriq, remember, is not eligible to any EV rebates from the governments (pricing starts at $69,898 including destination) and has RWD only, making it less attractive for many Canadians. Output is rated at 340 horsepower along with 325 pound-feet of torque.

However, maximum range is up to 502 km, which puts the Lyriq well ahead of competitors like the Audi e-tron (341-357 km), Jaguar I-PACE (357 km) and Volvo C40 Recharge (364 km). Super Cruise hands-free driving technology is available, too.

Deliveries of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq are scheduled for this fall. An AWD variant with an estimated 500 horsepower will come next, with orders to begin near the end of 2022 according to the company. More details will be provided between now and then, of course.
