Kia EV6 Driven by Former NHL Star Jaromir Jagr Gets Destroyed by Tram

Jaromir Jagr is still playing hockey these days, albeit back home in Czech Republic. But that’s not what we want to talk about here. The former NHL star had the scare of his life on Wednesday when his brand new Kia EV6 was T-boned by tram in Plzeňská.

Jagr, now 50, was not seriously injured, which is the good news. He declined a ride to the hospital.

That’s hard to imagine when you see the damage on the picture he posted on his Instagram account. His EV6 looks like it has just been subjected to a high-speed side crash test (which hasn’t happened yet on this side of the Atlantic, by the way).

According to Jagr’s post, he tried to cross from one direction to another, drove into it at the right time, but there was a lot of traffic and he didn't have time to react to the tram.

“I thought it was my end,” he wrote. “It was my mistake.”

Local police reportedly performed a breathalyzer test at the scene and the result came back negative, so it appears Jagr is in the clear from a legal standpoint.

Following Tiger Woods’ crash with a Genesis GV80 in February 2021 and now Jaromir Jagr with his Kia EV6, let’s hope no other high-profile athlete gets into an accident involving a new vehicle from the Hyundai family next year.
