Polestar 3 Teased Once More, Peak Output Revealed

It’s official: the all-new Polestar 3 will make its global debut on October 12 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The fully electric vehicle will be the young Swedish brand’s first SUV and inevitably become its best-selling product, too.

An early teaser back in June showed a side view and now we have this other picture revealing the rear end, which turns the Polestar 2’s taillight signature upside down and gives it a 3D effect while adding a raised spoiler at the top of the liftgate.

The Polestar 3 boasts a coupe-like profile reminiscent of the Volvo C40 Recharge, and besides the aforementioned spoiler, its advanced aerodynamics include air channels at the front of the hood. The black roof panel incorporates a panoramic glass surface.

We also know that the Polestar 3 will ride on a new architecture and launch with a dual-motor AWD configuration. The large-capacity battery is projected with a range over 600 km according to the WLTP standard, so more like 500+ km in North America.

As part of the latest teaser, Polestar also confirmed that output will amount to 510 horsepower and 671 pound-feet of torque with the optional Performance Pack. Developed by Polestar Engineered, an adaptive air suspension adjusting to road conditions every two milliseconds will come standard.

Production of the Polestar 3 will start early in 2023 at the same Volvo plant in South Carolina that will build the next-gen XC90. In the two years after that, the lineup will expand with the Polestar 4 and Polestar 5, one of which will be based on the Precept concept.

Follow us on October 12 for complete coverage of the Polestar 3. We’ll have a lot more details and a ton of pictures, as well.
