Porsche 911 Carrera T Returns for 2023 With Same Lightweight Approach

Published on October 18, 2022 in News by Guillaume Rivard

Great news for Porsche 911 enthusiasts: the lightweight Carrera T is back for 2023, offering a purist driving experience with exceptionally sporty equipment.

Other than the rear seats being removed, insulation being reduced, and the sound of the engine having an even more striking presence in the interior, what exactly is in store with this model? Let’s take a closer look.

Positioned between the base Carrera and the more powerful Carrera S, the new 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T weighs just 1,470 kg, which is 35 kg lighter than the former equipped with a PDK transmission. Its twin-turbocharged flat-six engine cranks out 379 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of 291 km/h.

The standard equipment from the Carrera S with a manual transmission is augmented by Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical rear differential lock. The 911 Carrera T also comes standard with the Sport Chrono package and the PASM sports suspension, which lowers the ride height by 10 mm. On request, it can also be ordered with the optional rear-axle steering, which is normally reserved for models from the Carrera S and up.

On the outside, the new 911 Carrera T stands out from the rest of the lineup with Dark Grey accents. Contrasting elements such as the top and bottom trim on the side mirrors, the new door logos and the rear logos, and the trim strips on the rear lid grille feature Agate Grey. The windshield also features a grey top tint, but the tailpipes of the sports exhaust system are in high-gloss black. Let’s not forget the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Titanium Grey Carrera S wheels.

In addition to four solid colours and four metallic finishes, Porsche offers special colours including Chalk, Ruby Star Neo, Carmine Red, Shark Blue and Python Green. Buyers also have the option of using the Paint to Sample program, which offers paintwork in over 110 available colour tones.

As for the cockpit, the 911 Carrera T combines a GT sports steering wheel with four-way power-adjustable Sports Seats Plus as standard. Decorative trim in matte black and decorative inlays in high-gloss black round out the interior. For extra flair, the optional Carrera T interior package adds safety belts and stitching in Slate Grey or Lizard Green contrasting colours.

Here’s another option worth considering: 18-way power-adjustable Adaptive Sports Seats Plus. Or maybe you’d prefer the even sportier and exceptionally lightweight full bucket seats featuring Race Tex seat centres for maximum support in corners.

The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T should land here starting in the spring, but it’s already available for order with a base MSRP of $132,000, slightly below the PDK-equipped 911 Carrera S.
