Refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 Gets 33 Inches of Displays

All of GM’s small crossovers are refreshed and improved for the 2024 model year. Hot on the heels of the Chevrolet Trailblazer (and Trax) and the Buick Encore GX, it’s now the Cadillac XT4’s time to shine.

Returning with the same three trim levels (Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport), the luxury brand’s entry-level SUV boasts fresh styling at both ends including new LED headlights and redesigned front grilles in a gloss black finish that have a certain Escalade vibe. New 18- and 20-inch wheel designs are also part of the mix.

Premium Luxury models continue to stand out with various chrome accents, while Sport models feature dark finishes. By the way, there are three new exterior colours to choose from: Emerald Lake Metallic, Midnight Sky Metallic and Deep Sea Metallic.

Inspired by LYRIQ

The interior of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 is where you’ll find arguably the biggest change—literally. The entire dashboard has been redesigned to incorporate a new digital instrument cluster and new centre touchscreen in a single, curved glass interface. The 33 inches of 9K displays match the LYRIQ electric crossover and can be fully customized by the driver.

The infotainment system now features Google built-in (Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play), but wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is also included. People using Amazon Alexa will get their wish, as well.

New 5G Wi-Fi hotspot capability is offered on top of that, while all XT4 models can be equipped with a new 13-speaker AKG Studio sound system providing an immersive listening experience, Cadillac says.

Brushed aluminum jazzes up the interior layout, and every trim level adds specific finishes whether it’s classic piano black trim, genuine wood/aluminum, or genuine wood/carbon fibre. Let’s not forget the revised steering wheel which emulates the Escalade’s.

Same Engine

What hasn’t changed with the XT4 is the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine under the hood. It still produces 235 horsepower, pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission and can deactivate some of its cylinders under certain driving conditions in order to save fuel.

For some reason, all-wheel drive remains optional with the base Luxury but is standard across the rest of the lineup. The XT4 Sport is the only model to offer an active sport suspension for sharper handling. You should also know that the available Active Safety Package has been enhanced with new Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Speed Limit Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 will go on sale this summer. While prices have yet to be announced, they will inevitably be higher than those of the outgoing model, which starts at $41,097 including freight, PDI and dealer fees.
