Carlsson C25 : The other Mercedes SL

Published on February 22, 2010 in Geneva by Gilles Olivier

Carlsson, famous German performance tuner who is also a long standing participant in the Geneva International Motor Show, is taking advantage of this opportunity to unveil an exceptional sport two-door coupé sedan, by the name of C25.

Conceived and developed from the Mercedes-Benz SL600 platform, the Carlsson C25 boasts a bodywork whose elements will convey a silhouette that will turn heads, as well as announcing, without undue modesty, it’s “mission”.

A superlative coupé

This vehicle will be equipped with a 6,0 litre V12 engine, with twin power turbo. This combination assures a devilish power of 753 HP and an impressive torque, even if electronically limited to 1150 Nm (Nanometer).

Powerful disc brakes are necessary to control the impetus of this high-powered machine. Up front their diameter is 405 mm, while the back discs are 380 mm. Furthermore, it is equipped with an excellent adaptive C-Tronic suspension.

With this type of cavalry under the hood, the C25 coupé can run 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.7 seconds. Top claimed speed is of 352 km/h.

Engineers have conceived this high-performance coupé so that it can as well be used on the racetrack as on the asphalt of our highways, and even of our cities.

Extremely limited production

Carlsson will only produce 25 units of the C25 model. As is usually the case with these exceptional high-powered cars of limited edition, the order book has already been filled, quite rapidly.

The Carlsson C25 will appear before the public as of March 4th 2010, at the Geneva International Motor Show.
