2025 MINI Countryman to Start at $45,990 in Canada

The MINI Countryman is not only redesigned from the ground up for 2025, but it also offers a fully electric variant for the first time. The gas-powered Countryman will arrive first, mind you.

Production for the Canadian market will start in March 2024 and units will arrive in dealerships two months later. We also know how much customers will pay.

The 2025 Countryman S ALL4 will carry an MSRP of $45,990, which does not include freight, PDI and dealer fees. It’s an increase of $1,800 from the outgoing model. By the way, the 134-horsepower Countryman won’t return, eliminating a cheaper alternative.

Once again equipped with MINI’s all-wheel drive system as standard, the new Countryman S ALL4 features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with significantly more power (241 hp vs. 189 hp) and torque (295 lb-ft vs. 207 lb-ft) than before, cutting 0-100 km/h acceleration times down to less than 7 seconds. For the record, it’s the same engine that powers the BMW X1 xDrive28i.

The Countryman is also blessed with a longer wheelbase and slightly wider tracks for improved stability. New wheel choices are available, not to mention an adaptive suspension that lowers ride height by 15 mm.

Another option is semi-automated driving tech, but instead of working on the highway, this one allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel at speeds of no more than 60 km/h, as long as they continue to closely monitor traffic and are ready to intervene at any time. When changing lanes, the assistant system helps by identifying the gaps in traffic that are necessary on the way to the exit. This then brings the vehicle to optimal speed and automatically initiates the lane change.

The Countryman’s interior is cleaner-looking and more technologically advanced than before, highlighted by a new 9.4-inch circular infotainment display complete with a virtual assistant and "MINI Experience Modes," each one transforming the look and atmosphere of the cabin.

In the rear, the bench folds in a 40/20/40 arrangement, which comes in handy when you want to load items down the middle and accommodate two rear passengers at the same time. The 460-litre trunk expands to 1,450 litres (previously 1,390 litres) when all the seatbacks are down.

As we reported earlier this month, the 312-horsepower 2025 Countryman John Cooper Works, which can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, will arrive at right around the same time as the Countryman S ALL4. This high-performance model is priced from $56,290 in Canada.
