Porsche today revealed details and photos of its new, third generation Panamera, giving this sporty four-door an additional dose of style, tech and performance. Porsche says the lineup will get a total of four hybrid models.

The new Panamera gets a few minor physical upgrades, with standard Matrix LED headlights fitted with more than 32,000 pixels on each side. A refreshed front fascia with additional air inlets and modified window frames are also on the upgrades list.

The exterior dimensions remain essentially the same with 5,052 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width and 1,423 mm in height. Longer Executive models are still available, but their dimensions are also similar for this generation.

Enhanced Performance

The Panamera and Panamera 4 models will be the first to launch in 2024. The well-known 2.9-litre V6 turbo that powers them has been modified for enhanced turbocharger pressure, gaining 23 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque in the process. The output now stands at 348 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque.

The first of the four Panamera hybrid models to be released will be the new Turbo E-Hybrid, and it will come later in 2024 as a 2025 model. It gets an enhanced version of the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 paired with an electric motor integrated in the 8-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. It is now fed by a larger 25.9 kWh battery – the current PanameraTurbo S E-Hybrid uses a 17.9 kWh unit.

This results in a combined output of 670 hp and 685 lb-ft of torque – which is less power, but considerably more torque than the current Turbo S E-Hybrid. No word on all-electric range for this hybrid model yet, but Porsche says it has increased. We can stipulate that a future 700+ horsepower Turbo S variant could join the lineup in the future.

The new Panamera gets the latest from the Porsche arsenal in terms of chassis tech, with a new standard two-chamber, two-valve suspension which also includes Porsche Active Suspension Management. Compression and rebound are controlled separately here, giving the Panamera the ability to strike a better balance between comfort and sportiness.

Optional rear-axle steering is also available on all Panameras, and the new Porsche Active Ride system will be listed an option for Panamera E-Hybrid models. This feature combines hydraulic and pneumatic components that work together to mitigate body roll, but also lets the driver raise the ride height to overcome urban obstacles.

Turbonite Theme, and many screens!

The Panamera gets more tech inside out. A curved 12.6-inch screen now acts as the instrument cluster, and the infotainment screen is fitted with Porsche's latest interface. There’s an optional passenger display with a 10.9-inch screen that can operate the infotainment system and stream content. It also features connected elements like the MyPorsche App (Apple CarPlay only), which allows the driver to control climate, seat massage, and ambient lighting through the app. The driver can also park the vehicle while standing beside it thanks to the RemotePark app. The shift lever has moved from the centre console to the dashboard.

Porsche is also throwing a bone at Turbo E-Hybrid model owners with the Turbonite theme. This model is distinguished by bespoke lower rear and front fascia and dark bronze tail pipes. The unique Turbonite Porsche crest is also fitted to the hood the wheel centres and the steering wheel.

The 2024 Porsche Panamera is available for order now. In the U.S, The Panamera starts at $101,550 for the base model, and $108,550 for the Panamera 4. In Canada, it starts at $116,300 for the base model and $120,600 for the Panamera 4. We’ll know more about the 2025 Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid in the coming months.
