2024 Lexus IS Proves You Can’t Have Too Much Selection
The Lexus IS received a major overhaul for the 2021 model year, but the current generation (third) actually dates back to 2014—and it shows when you look at the cabin. A decade later, the sporty luxury sedan offers more selection than ever, always with the hope of challenging Germany’s big guns.
To make a long story short, the 2024 Lexus IS makes slight improvements to four packages and adds three more for a total of 10 models. Pricing ranges from $49,976 to $81,476 including freight, PDI and dealer fees.

The entry-level IS 300 AWD, which features a 260-horsepower 3.5-litre V6, gains an F SPORT DESIGN package with an 8-inch touchscreen, power moonroof, heated steering wheel, 19-inch F SPORT alloy wheels, F SPORT Exterior Appearance Package, rear spoiler and more. In F SPORT 2 trim, a power tilting/telescoping steering column is now included.
The IS 300 AWD F SPORT 3 is an all-new package for 2024, featuring a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, triple-beam LED headlamps and Panoramic View Monitor system.
Next up, the IS 350 AWD (same V6 but with 311 horsepower) also gets a power tilting/telescoping steering column in F SPORT 2 trim, along with clearance and back-up sensors, parking support brake and black window frames. Meanwhile, the F SPORT 3 model is enhanced with a rear spoiler.
At the top of the range, the high-performance IS 500 RWD—the one blessed with a 5.0-litre V8 producing 472 horsepower—stands out for 2024 thanks to a Special Appearance Package that includes 19-inch forged BBS wheels, floor mats with blue stitching and an exclusive Blue Vector body colour. A power tilting/telescoping steering column is added here, too.
Sadly, the 2024 Lexus IS still doesn’t get the brand new Lexus Interface infotainment system, which is infinitely more advanced and more user-friendly than the old Lexus Enform system. Is the company waiting for the next generation to arrive? We fear so.
