This is Your Last Chance to Buy Alfa Romeo’s Twin-Turbo V6

Electrification is underway at Alfa Romeo. The all-new Tonale is available as a plug-in hybrid, while a first fully electric vehicle called Milano will make its global debut in April, though it doesn’t look like we’ll get this model on our shores.

As far as internal combustion engines go, things are about to change, as well. The 2024 model year marks the swan song of the Ferrari-derived, twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 that drives the 505-horsepower Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio.

Larry Dominique, head of Alfa Romeo in North America, wrote on his LinkedIn account a couple of days ago that the opportunity to order either one will close at the end of April and that the last ICE-powered Quadrifoglio models for the U.S. and Canada will exit the Cassino plant in June.

“This is the final chance to own a Quadrifoglio with only combustion engine technology as we continue our metamorphosis to an electrified future,” he clarified, while also adding that “this is not the end of the story. I look forward to presenting the next chapter in the four-leaf clover’s journey.”

Alfa Romeo recently celebrated 100 years of Quadrifoglio cars with a 100th Anniversary Edition of the Giulia and Stelvio. Only 100 units of each were made available as 2024 models—not just for Canada but for the entire planet.

While we’ll certainly miss the captivating sound of Alfa Romeo’s twin-turbo V6, all signs point to a huge boost in performance in the era of electrification.

At this time last year, Fiat CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato told Top Gear that development of Giulia replacement had long started and that a fully electric powertrain would be part of the mix. He mentioned a base model with 350 horsepower, a Veloce generating up to 800 horsepower, and also a top-line Quadrifoglio with—wait for it—as much as 1,000 horsepower. If that’s the case, we’re super excited.

Alfa Romeo has set a goal to become an EV-only brand by 2027.
