2024 Subaru BRZ Prices Go Up, Still a Bargain Among Sporty Cars
Sports cars are victims of inflation just like pretty much every other vehicle and the Subaru BRZ is no exception, with a base price that goes up $1,400 for 2024. That being said, it’s still a bargain in the segment.
The lineup includes three models and the cheapest one now starts with an MSRP of $31,895, which is $455 below the Toyota GR 86 and much more affordable than a Mazda MX-5 RF once again.

In addition to the 2.4-litre engine that produces 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed manual gearbox, standard equipment is highlighted by fully automatic LED headlights 17-inch alloy wheels, aluminum pedals, sport seats finished in premium fabric, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
What’s more, drivers no longer have to sacrifice EyeSight technologies including Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking System, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, along with Lead Vehicle Start Alert.
The mid-grade Sport-tech model starts at $34,895 for 2024, also with a manual transmission. It adds 18-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 performance summer tires, steering-responsive LED headlights, heated front seats adorned in leather and suede, a premium 8-speaker audio system, Subaru STARLINK connected services (3-year free trial) and Rear/Side Vehicle Detection with Blind Spot Detection, among other things.
It’s the only BRZ that offers the option of an automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, an extra that will cost you $1,800. Also part of the package is Reverse Automatic Braking, remote engine start/stop, as well as remote climate control through Subaru STARLINK.
And then of course you’ll find the new-for-2024, manual-only BRZ tS, which is priced from $36,295. This track-oriented model enhances performance and handling with an STI-tuned suspension and brakes.
More specifically, look for unique Hitachi dampers front and rear, a high-performance Brembo braking system including gold-painted four-piston front calipers, gold-painted dual-piston rear calipers along with larger pads and rotors, 18-inch alloy wheels in a unique dark grey finish and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires (215/40R18), the same found on the Sport-tech model.
Special “tS” badging is applied to the front grille and rear decklid, while the mirror caps and roof-mounted shark fin antenna come in black. Inside, the main changes are tS-only contrasting blue stitching on the front seat bolsters, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shifter boot and parking brake boot, plus a blue leather accent down the middle of the seats. The STI logo is displayed on the red start-stop button and customizable seven-inch digital instrument cluster, which is also updated with tS-exclusive red accents.
Whether you opt for the Subaru BRZ or the Toyota GR 86, you can’t really go wrong: the pair is the winner of our 2024 Best Buy award in the Sports Car category.
