2024 Toyota Land Cruiser to Start Just Under $70,000 in Canada
The all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser, which made its Canadian debut in Toronto earlier this month, will arrive in dealerships across the country this spring. The company today announced pricing details, and they’re pretty much in line with what we anticipated.
Slotting between the 4Runner and Sequoia, the Land Cruiser is available in four trim levels, all of which feature Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain as standard. This system is built around a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission via an electric motor in the bell housing. Combined output is 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. With a trailer hitch standard on all grades, the Land Cruiser can tow up to 6,000 lbs.

What’s more, each model uses a full-time 4WD system with a centre locking differential, electronically controlled two-speed transfer case, electronic locking rear differential and automatic limited-slip centre differential. Crawl Control, Downhill Assist Control and a three-setting Drive Mode Select system also come standard.
Inside, look for a rugged and utilitarian cabin design, complete with state-of-the-art tech including Toyota’s new multimedia system with available intelligent assistant.
How Much?
Okay, let’s cut to the chase, because you’re here to find out about prices, aren’t you? The lineup starts with the Land Cruiser 1958 carrying a base MSRP of $69,290 (but don’t forget freight, PDI, dealer charge and other fees which amount to a whopping $3,631). This retro-inspired model sports round LED headlamps and a heritage grille with TOYOTA spelled out in full. Other highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, fabric upholstery, 8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch multi-information display and 2400-watt AC outlet in the cargo area.
At $77,290, the simply named Land Cruiser introduces more modern styling and additional features designed for off-roading. We’ll insist on the rectangular LED headlamps, Rigid fog lamps, power moonroof, power rear liftgate and Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism that increases suspension flex at the push of a button. Inside, the touchscreen and digital instrument display are both 12.3 inches in size, synthetic leather covers the seats, the front buckets are ventilated, and drivers benefit from Multi-Terrain Monitor and Multi-Terrain Select systems.
Spend an extra $6,000 and you’ll get the Land Cruiser with Premium Package. This one adds 20-inch alloy wheels, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, 14-speaker JBL Premium audio, head-up display, digital key, digital rear-view mirror and more. Safety is enhanced with Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Driver Monitor and Traffic Jam Assist. Oh, and a cool thing—literally—is the cooler box within the centre console.
As for the top-of-the-line, highly exclusive Land Cruiser First Edition, only 290 units will be available in Canada, selling at $90,370 apiece. The model features front and transfer case skid plates, rock rails, roof rack, unique 18-inch wheels, rally-inspired mud flaps, liftgate opening guard, plus exclusive interior accents such as embossed lettering on the door shoulders. The LED headlamps go back to being round, while model-specific two-tone body colours are available.
